ANEMONE COMBINATION (fire-draining/reducing formula)
Effects: clearing heat to detoxify; cooling the blood to stop dysentery.
Indications: heat dysentery with rectal heaviness induced by cold damage; dysentery with desire to drink. abdominal pain due to pyretic dysentery; tenesmus; burning sensation in the anus; diarrhea containing pus and blood, more red than white; thirst with desire for drink; reddened tongue with yellow coating and rapid string-like pulse.
Clinical Reference: This formula is often used in treating acute /chronic bacterial dysentery; amebic dysentery; acute colitis; postpartum enteritis; stool containing pus and blood. It has the function of anti-inflammation, astringent, checking diarrhea, and stopping bleeding.
