Rhubarb Moutan Combination (blood-regulating formula)
Effects: purging heat and dispersing swelling; breaking blood and expelling stasis to disperse nodules.
Indications: At the early stage of intestinal abscess; right lower abdominal pain; spontaneous urination; occasional cold-heat; red tongue with yellow fur; slippery rapid pulse. ATTENTION: cautious use during pregnancy.
Clinical Reference: This formula is often used in treating acute appendicitis due to internal dampness-heat. It can also treat adnexitis, pelvic infection, and infection after tubal ligation due to binding and accumulation of stagnated heat.
