Effects: harmonizing and releasing the lesser yang; warming and resolving retained fluid
Indications: 1. lesser yang disease with retained fluid binding internally. cold damage lasting five or six days with sweating; fullness and slight bind in the chest and hypochondrium; inhibited urination; thirst with no vomiting; sweating from the head; alternating chills and fever; vexation. 2. male malaria; taxation malaria.
Clinical Reference: This formula is often used in treating dysfunction of the lesser yang pivot; gallbladder fire internal depression affecting the triple energizers, leading to retained fluid binding in the middle.
Its applied to chronic hepatitis; arrhythmias; coronary artery disease; cystic disease of breast; menstrual irregularities; common cold; pneumonia; bronchitis; insomnia; malaria; endocarditis etc.
