EFFECTS: dispelling wind and effusing the exterior; detoxifying and outthrusting rashes.
INDICATION: 1) yang brightness cold damage pattern/syndrome- headache due to wind stroke; heaviness/aversion to cold with fever; no sweating and thirst; eye pain and dry nose; insomnia. 2) yang brightness eruption.
CLINICAL REFERENCE: This formula is often used in treating measles, common old due to wind-heat, herpes, acute enteritis, and acute bacterial dysentery.
